The 8th Tashkent International Biennale of the modern art was held from the 8th to the 14th of October, 2018, in Tashkent.
The international art forum allowed answering to some extend the main focus questions of the 8th Tashkent International Biennale – how to find a balance, how to stay a human without losing the eternal values in the era of inevitably developing technological innovations, and about the place and the role of a modern creator in these conditions.
The 8th Tashkent International Biennale aimed at the wide international exchange of artistic practice in the sphere of modern art, and information about the existing tendencies and perspectives of the development of the modern media directions; the development of the modern art in Uzbekistan through the interaction with the world art community; the creation of the suitable conditions for the perfection of professional skills in the sphere of modern art; the formation of the long-lasting cultural links between the countries.
The founders of the 8th International Biennale of the modern art were the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, National Airline “Uzbekiston Havo Yullari”, the khokimiyat of the Tashkent city, the stock company “Uzsharobsanoat” and other concerned ministries and institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Biennale had a competitive base of choosing the brightest creative works and projects by the professional jury consisting of famous practitioners and theorists of the modern art.
